Personalized Mandala

For one of my liberal arts classes I had to make a 'personalized' mandala as a final project, so here is my result! I learned a lot through out this and really feel like my 'voice' is starting to be consistent in my work :)

Tala & Tama : Character Design

For my Illustration class we were told to make some sort of sequential piece. Being that I don't have an interest in comics, I created a character and 3 accompanying illustrations that help describe the world and the personality of the characters.
All of these started out traditionally with colored ink pens, then I took them into photoshop to do some color and texture overlays.

I did an illustrative sculpture of the characters as well that I will update with shortly.

Another Gig Poster

A mixture of my ink assignment for Illustration media and then I took it to color and texted up form. This poster means a little bit more to me than normal because I lovelovelove all the bands playing and are friends with most of them.
Everyone should come out to this show, it's going to be a bootie shakin' good time.

I Don't Care - I'm Going

Carters Workshop Submissions

Here are a couple of pages out of the portfolio I put together for the Carters Workshop. Out of 31 submissions, 12, including mine, was accepted into the workshop to work under the supervision two experienced Carters Creatives. I learned a lot a really appreciated the opportunity to have face time with working professionals.
Must do more workshops!

Monday, November 14, 2011

I was supposedly making an advertisement for Children's Tylonol, but just used it as a guise for a children's book piece. Because this isn't an ad - no one would run this, haha. But over all, I'm pretty happy with the piece. Needs another hour or two of finessing though.

Off to crit!

Another Show Poster

I got asked to do two show posters within 15 minutes of each other. This is the one I ended up completing. Still playing with the type placement.

And then with the text edit.

The Book Cover I Pulled Out of my Ass

The recent trend of my creative behavior has been work really hard on something, trash it the day before the deadline and then just 'wing it' and come up with a much better piece. This a product of that. For the sake of my ego I won't post what atrocity I had created before this 'indie' thing, but believe me, it was something to burn.
